Guilds

In the Realm of Magic, "guild" means two things: the guildhouses of the five classes, and associations of players.

Class guilds #

Every class has its guilds - Cleric, Druid, Mage, Thief and Warrior - in most larger towns. A guildhouse is heavily guarded, so only members of the class may enter, and it is where you go to learn and improve the skills and spells of your trade: find your guildmaster and practice. Each new level gives you more practice time.

Members of a class also share a guild channel across the whole Realm: ; followed by your text, or msay, csay, tsay, wsay and dsay for mages, clerics, thieves, warriors and druids. ; @ shows which members are online.

Not every town has every guild - Atalia, for example, has no druid guild.

Player guilds #

Associations of players with a common trade or purpose:

  • Merchant's Guild - the traders of the Realm, who still have their own channel.
  • Reporters
  • Saint Tibal's University (members only) - based at the university just south of Moonglow, which a coach connects with the town.

For other associations of players, see Orders, Groups and Firms.
